LA ROCHE POSAY
Hi all thanks so much for being patient with me. I am all moved in and I'm finally beginning to feel at home. I have had issues with my Internet hence the lack of posting. The past week has felt like a never ending flat pack furniture voyage! Last night we screwed the last pin into our DVD tower, so I finally have a fully furnished house! I have my own makeup/ dressing room, which I am relishing using! I have gone for a shabby chic style in my girlish heaven. If you want to see my new setup let me know! I am still trying to get my makeup into a storage system that is fully functional and neat! Something I'm not sure I will ever achieve, as it grows all the time!
Any way I would be lying if I said I haven't popped out for some cosmetics! I have branched out this week and tried the famous french brand La Roche Posay. I have always heard great things about this, and as a therapist I would never try to convert someone away from this brand. I have found that my nose has been especially shiny recently and decided to try a matifying moisturiser prior to my makeup application. I am still using and loving the Liz Earle moisturiser at nighttime. When I was in Boots browsing this brand, I spotted an astringent lotion, and decided this might be a nice added step in my morning routine. As this is an astringent make sure you only use it on the T zone or affected areas.
The moisturiser is called Effaclar M and contains active ingredients, which have the desired effect of regulating sebum production. In other words this moisturiser stops the dreaded shiny look. It has a lovely texture, and feels really nourishing. I would highly recommend you try this if you are anti primers like me, but hate the film of shine that can appear throughout the day.
The astringent lotion is called Effaclar, and claims to be a micro- exfoliant. This is a great product. It strips the dirt and oil off the face. This again is a great step to include prior to moisturiser and makeup application, as it gives you added protection against sebum production during your busy day. The last thing I have time to do is touch up. I have used these products all week and have remained shine free! My skin does not feel dry, and my spot prone skin has remained clear.
I would definitely recommend you try this brand it is easy to access in the UK and reasonably priced with all products around the £10-15 price bracket.

Whilst I was in boots, the weather outside was frightful! and Models Own nail polish was so delightful. I treated myself to a beautiful pink/burgundy red. This is so far from any colour I own. I'm a more muddy nail kinda girl! This colour is called Magenta pearl. Go and treat yourself. Currently there is a deal on Models Own products; buy 2 products and get a free lip gloss. Even more reason to spoil yourself rotten!
