ORIGINS SPOT REMOVER- YUM

As you all know, I have to work hard to keep my skin spot free, and lately it's been like running a marathon. I don't know what it is; perhaps the change in water, change in weather or general lack of healthy food. I have spent a fortune trying to find a target spot treatment that works. I don't want to change my beloved Liz Earle cleanser, or moisturiser as the majority of my skin is in good condition. I think that when you have had good skin all of your life; a sudden inexplicable breakout can be very hard to deal with. Psychologically you feel less confident; even though you know it's trivial. But we have to recognize that try as we might to remain flawless; we are only human, and sadly our bodies react in the oddest ways to change. Thinking this rationally is easier said than done; whilst I sat one night trawling the Internet for a cure to my constant breakouts, I came across a review for this product.......

I have never really tried any products from Origins before. I find this astonishing, as I have tried pretty much everyone going. I'm not sure why either, maybe lack of advertisements or perhaps sheer obliviousness. This product was a first, and I'm beginning to feel it won't be the last Origins product I try.

This treatment is minute! (10ml/.3fl oz of clear gel) and costs £10.  If used appropriately it should last a long time. A little goes a long way. This is a great thing to have around at all times! It should be used as specialised on the spot treatment, not daily. Not that Origins have given much in the way of application instructions, ridiculous in my opinion, as I imagine many youngsters using this. From the sensation felt during application, I assume that the ingredients within this product are highly concentrated, and could begin to aggravate with prolonged use. This is not a pleasant treatment to apply. It stings, smells not dissimilar to dental mouthwash, and makes your face feel like you have had one too many botox injections. I personally am willing to man up, as the results are so outstanding. Once you have used this product I recommend washing your hand vigorously, so to avoid rubbing your eyes, like silly Lucy over here!  The sales assistant told me that I could use it twice a day; she must be mad is all I have to say. This works so quickly that by day two you will have forgotten that your blemish ever existed (slight exaggeration).

This product flattens and dries out any blemish within hours. I have put it under my moisturiser prior to make-up application, and let me tell you I didn't get an ounce of shine all day. This stuff doesn't let anything through. It’s like a sebum blockade! If you have terribly oily skin this could be a miracle. I'm not suggesting you apply it every day though (I don't want to get the blame), maybe if you have a special occasion where you need your make-up to stay in place, and not slide off your face.

If you can get past the pushy sales people, that seem to adorn every Origins counter I have visited, and make them realise I'm looking, means bugger off, then this will be a great addition to your spot fighting army. This would be really helpful for any teens that are facing hormonal breakouts. This product is great if you hate drug store spot treatments. Such treatments often leave your skin flaking, sensitive and, well still spotty.  This treatment is so potent, that prolonged use really is superfluous. The salicylic acid attacks the blemish immediately while the naturally active oregano and clove help soothe the redness left behind.

This is a great product; I highly recommend you give it a go, if like me you suffer from the odd breakout. Be prepared to squirm as you apply, as it really does sting :(

I have some more spot fighting products to share with you; in fact this will be a weekly thing. Every Thursday I will divulge a spot fighting product or trick, permitting you a couple of days to tackle the beast before your Saturday merriments. Together we will produce a spot fighting army so robust, there won't be a blocked pore in sight.

  1. Brilliant review. This type of product is exactly what I need at the moment. I have like 5 spots on my chin. So annoying and Xmas and the overeating is just around the corner so I guess it will get worse!
I'm using my Estee Lauder Advanced night repair and then the 8hour cream and they look much better the next day but the combo does not kill the spot just minimise the bump. :-(

  2. This is fantastic Mercedes.... also a dap of Hydro cortisone over night will reduce inflammation but only once or twice as prolonged use will lead to skin irritations.

Beauty counters should get rid of the sales targets so the girls can actually help you rather than hound you.
